Passion for a job well done
Hosting a catering event in Palacio de Miramar with its various halls and splendid gardens overlooking San Sebastian bay is one of the greatest pleasures and privileges that a catering service can offer.
This English style building was designed in 1888 by the English architect Selden Wornum and built by Benito Olasagasti under the direction of the council architect José Goicoa.
The building is reminiscent of the English country house, intended for one sole family. Characterised by its purely Nordic style, its sober elegance blends with aesthetics and comfort, in keeping with the bucolic setting which would surround it.
The roof is covered entirely with flat English slates.
The park and gardening design is the work of the landscape architect Pierre Ducasse, who died before seeing his work terminated.
The Palace has over 9 halls, a basement and three storeys.
The site itself was chosen by the queen regent Maria Cristina, mother of Alfonso XVIII, for the family to spend their summers in San Sebastian.
